How ChoresMatter uses household data
ChoresMatter helps households manage chores, stock, expenses, helper access, and AI-assisted answers. Household records stay private to your household and are used to run ChoresMatter, provide requested features, support accounts, protect the service, and meet legal requirements.
AI features
When you use AI features, ChoresMatter may process photos, receipts, schedules, questions, or household records with AI processing services so it can create draft records, translations, summaries, or answers you requested.
AI processing uses OpenRouter, which forwards the information to Google to run Gemini models through Google AI Studio or Vertex AI. Ask uses your question, recent conversation and relevant shared Chores, Stock and Expenses. Stock scans also use existing Stock details to match items.
You choose whether to enable AI for your identity before submitting AI requests. You can turn AI off in Settings. Manual features and saved results remain available. Requests already accepted may still finish. Other members who enable AI can use shared Household records, including records you added.
OpenRouter prompt logging and observability export are disabled for our account. OpenRouter still processes request content and keeps operational metadata such as usage, cost and timing. Provider retention depends on the endpoint and may include safety, security or legal retention. We do not promise zero retention for every AI feature. Helper Help uses a separate Google Vertex AI route with zero-data-retention and no-data-collection routing controls.
Service providers
ChoresMatter works with trusted service provider categories for hosting, authentication, database and storage, email delivery, billing, analytics and performance, and AI processing.
Product health and protection
ChoresMatter uses limited analytics and product health metrics to understand reliability, onboarding, feature usage, performance, cost, and abuse signals. ChoresMatter may also use limited technical and account information for security, abuse prevention, usage limits, troubleshooting, and reliability.
Retention and deletion
Household records and attached photos are kept while your household account is active, unless you delete them in the app. Some feature-specific photos may have shorter retention.
You can delete your account in the app: Owners use Settings › your name › Delete account, and Helpers use Settings › Leave Household. Deletion usually finishes within minutes and always within 7 days. It removes your account, sign-in details and your name from shared records, and revokes Sign in with Apple access.
If you are the only Owner, the household and all its records and photos are deleted. If other Owners remain, shared chores, stock, expenses and photos stay with the household without your name.
A web subscription you pay for stops renewing. Cancel App Store subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Payment records, including those held by our billing provider, are kept when needed for tax, accounting, fraud, dispute or legal reasons. Copies in service provider logs and backups are removed as they expire.
To request deletion of anything you cannot delete in the app, contact support@choresmatter.com.
